I'm watching the ball drop!

This is my first year watching the ball drop, my parents aren't up because they've never been able to stay up and watch. Oh my god it's dropping!!! SQQQQQUEEEEEEEE x10!!!!
Sorry, it's just kind of a big moment for me. I might cry. . . *sniff*
:)
:)
:)
See ya later!! It's new years!!

Plot Bunnies Newsletter, issue two.

12-31-2010
Hey guys it’s Anna again(that’s my pen name!!). I can’t believe Christmas was last week! Okay well onto the newsletter, by the way my B-day is coming up soon. Hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge, whisper, whisper. . .

WRITING TIPS
~If you can’t write or think. . .then edit.
~Visit websites if you can’t write!!
~Use your time wisely by using ‘Write or Die’, if you plan carefully then you’ll get in way to many words to count! **You’ll have to put it on the meanest settings for best results**
~If you’re writing about something that you don’t know the research it or you’ll end up with a bad book, NOT good!!
~Love your writing, even if it really sucks you’re going have to love it one day or another.
~Don’t drink caffeine filled drinks, it gives you energy but then slows you down a bunch.

THIS WEEK’S OPINION
Did you like this issue? Oh and by the way, next week's opinion is this subject:
What is your New Year's resolution? Do you even have one, if so why is it your resolution?
Lissa: To stop Hermiting so much
Kpaws99: to finish my book
Next week’s opinion: What is your novel about? Why did you choose to write about that, and where did you get the idea?
Please answer the opinion and send it in, thank you.

RESEARCHING TIPS
~Never ever use wikipedia, it is very unreliable and it shouldn’t ever be used for research.
~ Check out more than two sources just to make sure the info is correct, if both places say different things then you might want to check out another site just to be safe.
~ When taking notes, the best way to take notes is Cornell style or on note cards. Cornell style is best for school notes because you can post questions on one side and the answer on the other, while note cards you can organize into categories.
~For all of you who are not familiar with the Cornell note taking style here is a link: http://www.bucks.edu/~specpop/Cornl-ex.htm

Good question, great answer.

CONTEST!!
To celebrate the new year, I decided to host a contest! So, the contest is who has the best writing skills! It will be featured in the third issue, so you have exactly a week to work on it. You can submit an excerpt, a short story, a poem, or maybe even a song. Please have it no longer than one thousand, five hundred words. Good luck to all! I can’t wait to read them. We also need a judge, so I can only have one judge but they can’t submit their own work. The prize is being featured in the next issue and having your submission put on my blog. Cool right?

NOTES
Sorry that I don’t have a lot of stuff in here, but it’s only because the readers of this newsletter haven’t been sending stuff in such as links, prompts, OPINONS, and books that they like. Please send stuff in guys, come on!
My birthday is next week(on Thursday) and I can’t wait. Please send in an entry for the contest, it would be a great birthday present for me. : )
Also uh sorry for it coming out a dinner time, I was out shopping and trying to find a good place to practice my new hobby(you’ll find out what it is once you visit my blog)!
Thank you for subscribing, we have around fifteen subscribers, so spread the word so we can hit the twenty people mark!!

Please follow my blog, subscribe to my newsletter, visit me(McGeek) on the Nanowrimo young writer's site, and check out all of the pages on my blog!

I actually am on page two hundred in the book I'm reading it got better nut the way it's written is a bit weird and can get annoying. Okay I'm going to go play sims 2, write, and then go to sleep.

Uhg help me with my homework. . .anyone?

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHUHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
Okay sorry about all that groaning, but ever since I got sick with the swine flu, flu, and strep(yes all of them at the same time, yes I'm still here), I've had TONS of make up work. Okay, not a ton, I just have. . .
~English book I have to read: pg 103 out of 516
~English project for The Red Pyramid (it sucks)
~Science notes packet, and worksheet packet on cell division(groan)
~Math angles worksheets
~Spanish notes on comparing classes(did that whooooo!)
~History: none!!!
Okay so yea, that's what I missed and that's how much lots of teachers care. The only teacher I know in the past two years that actually cared about me was my English teacher who I still love very dearly. She was my best teacher in Sixth grade, and I still wish I could be with her at the other school(we go redistricted, well darn you superintend!). I also loved my math teacher from last year, she works at the school I go to now, and she is quite awesome(so is her daughter). Oh and my choir teacher last year, she also rocks(we chanted her name at the ceremony when they were handing out the awards, turns out we got first place for one category and a soloist medal).
Okay, enough with me talking, I'm working on my new novel and it's top secret, however I will give you a tiny excerpt. . .okay? Good!
Adios,
Anna :P

Squeee look at all of my presents.

I got an Ipod touch, a Nook, Snow, a super cute necklace, and many other great things. *sigh* It was a great Christmas, and I still haven't done my make up work yet, or finished the four hundred page book I have to read, or the project for the book.  Whoops, I guess I should be doing that right now. . .but can't I skip that because I am 'researching' a career for the future? Hmmmm teachers? Hmmmhmmmmm?
Teacher: No you can not, you have to do your school work! School work comes before friends and everything else!
Me: *punches teacher* Knock out!!
Teacher: You are going to be expelled Anna, expelled!!
Me:Boo hoo.
Principal: I don't care.
That really did happen at one of the school in my school district. . . .that is how much teachers these days care. . .
Well any way, I'm still working on the next issues for the Plot Bunny news letter, and I'm really excited. If you can then submit some work, writing prompts, and tips, I would really appreciate it. :)
Buh- bye,
Anna :)
P.S If you would like to receive a writing prompt each week, and each issue of plot bunnies, then click the 'Follow' button so I can email you the issue and prompt each week. Thanks! :)

It's Christmas already? Jeez, this year went by so fast! As I promised 'Santa' will but my excerpt up, he's just a bit late. . . hurry up Santa, darn you!!
Sorry, I'll post it soon. But I'm occupied with trying to charge my iPod touch and my Nook. . . I know I know I hate the nook, but I got it as a present from my loving Grandma so I can't say no to a gift. :) Thanks Grammie, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, and everyone else for my gifts.
Okay, well I'm of to play with my iPod touch and pray that I don't break it in the process, LOL!
See ya later,
Anna :)

Plot Bunnies Newsletter, issue one.

Wow, the first issue of Plot Kitties. Sorry for that random sentence. Hola chicos y chicas! That means ‘Hello boys and girls’, I’ll probably be using that has my introduction most of the time, lol.
Thank you so much to everyone that subscribed, that means a lot to me and I really hope that you’ll enjoy this issue. Please spread the word! Oh yea and Feliz Navidad, Happy Hanukah, Merry Kwanza, etc etc.

WRITING TIPS
This is my favorite part of each issue, the tips, especially the writing ones. You probably have heard all sorts of crazy tips, but these are what I find to help me when I need help.
~Drink hot chocolate before you write, the Sipping Coco at the store Trader Joe’s is really good. It helps your brain! Mmmmmmhhhhhhh. . . .and keeps you away from the candy.
~When you’re absolutely stuck and all of the ideas in your brain have just ran out of your ears, read. I get all of my ideas(when I’m stuck!) from the books I read.
~Set goals for each hour, or half hour. Such as I will write one thousand words in an hour, or I will write four hundred words in a half an hour. Make sure while you’re writing you aren’t being disturbed by family members, so that way you can have the maximum word count.
~Try to be really creative and doodle. It’s one of the hardest things to do when you don’t have ideas.

NEW LINKS

RESEARCHING TIPS
This is my second favorite part of the newsletter, everyone had trouble researching so I decided to help everyone out. I know that’s it’s really hard, annoying, and frustrating, but we all have to do it! So here are some tips to help you.
~You’re not the only one!
~If you can’t find a reliable source on the internet, look in a book.
~Use snow days in the winter to research, that way you can go to school with more info to impress your friends and teachers, but also so that you can continue writing your book.
~WRITE IT ALL DOWN!!! Don’t just read it, take notes!

OPINIONS
Anonymous: Stephanie Meyer is a horrible writer, and Twilight is a horrible book.
Next week’s opinion: Just like in the young writer’s workbooks on the young nanowrimo site, there are spaces for good and bad books. To you(I mean to you!), what is a good book and what is a bad book?
Vampirelover: And Stephanie Meyer is a good author, she inspired me to write my novels the way I want to put them, and people say I write like her too! I love the movies, but the books are totally AWESOME! It's like I'm watching a movie in my head while reading the book!!

EXCERPT OF MY NEW NOVEL
"You know, you’re really annoying when you do that.” Alex snorted as Bubbles romped around the seats, and finally settled on standing on Alex’s legs. She sighed and tried to shove Bubbles off of her lap, but her claws stuck firmly to her jeans.
“She loves you Alex. Face it, you have an admirer.” My mood was pretty good considering my life was going to be hell when I started school again.
“I can’t believe you kept your sense of humor.” Alex turned her head away from the window a look of disbelief crossing her sweet face.
“Well yea, I always keep it when I’m sick. You didn’t think I would keep it now when I’m switching schools? What would I do without my sarcasm?” She rolled her eyes and then turned back to the window, watching all of the pale-skinned students walking towards one of the buildings.
“Alright girls stop fighting and think about being polite to the headmistress. I don’t want to be embarrassed like I was when we were meeting the headmistress at Etha.
“M’kay.” Alex snorted as she opened the car door on her side of the car and got out, quickly slamming the door in my face, Even though she really didn’t mean to do that, I still decided to glare angrily at her. I opened the door and stepped out of the car with little Bubbles stalking behind me.

It's Christmas Eve!!

Who knew Christmas would sneak up on us like that? :)
Any who, I super psyched because 'Santa' is going to bring you all an excerpt of my novel. I gave it to  him to give to you. LOL. Don't ya just love the holidays? For all of you that don't celebrate Christmas(quite a few people) Happy Hanuka(is that how you spell it?!), Merry Kwanzaa, and for Puerto Ricans Feliz Navidad y Feliz Dia de Reyes. That means Merry Christmas and Merry Day of Kings(three kings day). I love Spanish class. <3
Before I say good by I have a new story idea that is my best one yet, how ever I will only be posting an excerpt of the novel. It's a really good idea and I'm, sooooooooooooo excited!! Squee, Christmas is tomorrow! Oh and to yet again impress people Hoy es Nochebuena. Oh look at that, it means; Today is Christmas Eve.
Toodles,
Anna

Thursday, December 23, 2010

Hola, I'm here!

I can't believe in only TWO days until Christmas!! Squeeeeee, I'm so freaking excited! Well for all of you who are reading and who love this blog I have some good news. For Christmas I will be posting an excerpt of my novel, and I psyched. It's pretty good, but I'm definitely not the best writer in the world. Since I've been sick, I've been writing a lot and I have around 8,500 words out of my 40,000 word count goal. This will be a novel, but I don't know if it will be a series yet. Don't worry, I do have more ideas and I have just gotten over my bad case of writer's block that accompanied my swine flu, flu, and strep throat. Yea you got that right, flue, swine flu, AND strep throat all at the same time. I just finished my medicine(antibiotics and other junk) and I'm back to my normal perky self. Okay, this was a long post and so I don't make it longer I will post my novel excerpt on the page titled 'Excerpts' and I have another story idea so I'll post that on the 'Current Novels' page. Thanks for reading!
Signing off,
Anna :)

Snow day first post!

I finally have a blog! *Sigh* Amazing isn't it? Well okay, so here's my profile.
(Pen) Name: Anna Swanson
Age: 12 soon to be 13(I'm mature don't worry)
I like: texting, my computer, the series Private by Kate Brian, the Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate Dicamalo, dogs, cats, writing(duh), reading, drawing on the computer, NCIS the show, the Navy(I'm obsessed with it sorry!), Despicable Me minions(!!!), Jane Austen, House of night series, Spanish, much much more
I loathe(great word by the way): girls that dumb down for boys, boys who purposely fail school and ignore teachers, long bangs over people' s faces, Twilight, New moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, the short life of Bree Tanner, Stephanie Meyer, J.K. Rowling, soccer, researching, my English teacher(I shouldn't call her a teacher), much more

About my novel:Nicolette Morel use to be a normal girl, but now she's a Night Child going to a special school just for Night Children. She isn't a vampire, or a demon, she's something different and something more powerful. Her life was great, until Catherine Cameron the head mistress of the school unexpectedly dies due to a vampire attack, and many others get hurt due to these attacks. The students are kept inside the walls of the secret school, but two students disobey every order given to them in order to save their friends and fellow peers. Will Nicolette and Marcie; her room mate survive the attacks, or will the vampires claim their new young blood donor too soon?

I know my writing somewhat sucks, no need to tell me that.
